“The Loving Story” behind Loving v. Virginia

Richard and Mildred Loving were an interracial couple whose marriage was the catalyst for a landmark Supreme Court case that overturned state miscegenation laws. They were also just a man and woman who loved one another and their family.  Photographer Grey Villet captured that love in a series of photographs that are now on exhibit at the International Center of Photography in NYC.

See the New York Times review of the show as well as some sample photographs.
