April 12, 1861 — Civil War Begins

150 years ago, the Confederate attack on Fort Sumter marked the beginning of the American Civil War. The Connecticut Civil War Commemoration Commission’s opening event will be the 8am firing of 10 cannons on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Bushnell Park.
