The Tunxis Short Story Discussion Group

Some of the members of the Tunxis Short Story Discussion group were captured gathered around a quilt made by fellow member Patty McDermott as we got ready to discuss April’s selection, Alice Walker’s “Everyday Use.” This is a group that likes to have fun, so after this photo was snapped we decided to take advantage of the summerlike temperatures and sit outside (on the quilt!) to talk about the story and its themes of identity and heritage.
Our final meeting of the year will be on May 5th at 1:30pm in the Library’s large conference room (unless it is another sparkling day) when we will discuss “A New England Nun” by Mary E. Wilkins Freeman. Contact Rachel Hyland if you are interested in joining us this year or next.
